1. Who is responsible

Tinkerwise is operated by METHOD TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, account address, profile image, provider identifier, and account verification status when you sign in with Google or a magic link.
• Authentication and security information: session identifiers, expiry information, IP address, and browser user-agent information used to create and protect sessions.
• Billing information: plan, checkout and customer references, entitlement status, and transaction events supplied by Polar. Tinkerwise does not receive or store your full payment-card number through the hosted checkout.
• Messages you send us: information included in messages submitted through the contact form or other correspondence.
• Technical information: information necessary to deliver the site, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and keep the service secure. Tinkerwise does not currently use advertising profiles or sell personal information.

3. How we use information

• Provide free concepts anonymously and provide account-only access to premium concepts.
• Send authentication messages and respond to support requests.
• Process checkout, maintain entitlements, handle refunds and cancellations, and provide the customer portal.
• Secure the service, prevent fraud or misuse, troubleshoot errors, and comply with legal obligations.
• Improve explanations and interactions using aggregated or de-identified information where practical. We do not use private account content to train a general-purpose AI model unless we clearly disclose that change and obtain any consent required by law.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the user and location, Tinkerwise relies on contract or steps requested before contract for account access and paid plans; legitimate interests for security, service operations, and basic product improvement; consent where we ask for it; and legal obligation where processing is required by law.

5. Service providers

We use service providers to operate the application. Current providers include Better Auth and Google for authentication, Resend for magic-link delivery, Polar for hosted checkout and billing, Neon/PostgreSQL for application data, and hosting or infrastructure providers needed to deliver the site. They may process information only to provide services to Tinkerwise and under their own terms and privacy notices.

6. Retention

We keep account and entitlement information while your account is active and for as long as needed for security, support, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations. We delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed, subject to lawful retention requirements. Session and verification records are retained only for their operational lifetime or a limited security period.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. Use the contact form with the request and the account address involved. We may verify your identity before completing a request.

To stop optional marketing messages, use the unsubscribe control in the message or contact us. Transactional security and billing messages may still be sent when necessary.

8. International transfers

Tinkerwise and its providers may process information in countries different from where you live. We use the transfer safeguards required by applicable data-protection law for the providers and user regions involved.

9. Children

Tinkerwise is intended for learners, families, and educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, use the contact form so we can review and delete it where appropriate. We apply the child-privacy requirements that govern the users and regions we serve.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process, including hosted authentication, access controls, encrypted transport, and limited retention. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If we discover a breach that requires notification, we will follow applicable law.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

Tinkerwise uses essential cookies or equivalent storage for authentication and session security. If analytics, advertising, embedded media, or other non-essential technologies are added, this policy and any consent controls will be updated before they are used.

12. Changes

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and, where required, provide additional notice for material changes.
